Learning Workshops deliver practical training

In the modern business world, time is a precious commodity.
Getting away from your desk for a day to learn new skills can be very difficult, even if the rewards are clearly worthwhile.

To address this issue, Meteor IT has introduced a number of short Learning Workshops to cover single topics in more depth. Rather than learning about features you may never use, your time can be spent more effectively getting to grips with just one subject.

These workshops place an emphasis on participation by the attendees, rather than just sitting back and being taught. Each person brings their own skills and experiences in addition to the prepared materials and everyone can learn from their peers in this environment - hence these are learning workshops, rather than training courses.

Much of the material covered in these workshops is drawn from our main training courses, but this allows you to get the information from several difficulty levels at once. Some of the workshops bring together features from more than one piece of software, as well as introducing non-technical elements to improve clarity and presentation of information.

Delivering Better Presentations

The purpose of this workshop is to help people to become more confident and deliver presentations which are professionally produced and provide maximum impact for the audience.

This session will highlight ways in which PowerPoint and similar software can be used to create slideshows which are easier to deliver and more effective at getting information across. Other related skills such as planning, timing and room layout will also be discussed. The course will not explain how specific functions of the software work; it is focussed on the "why" rather than the "how".
